ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. While all children under the age of 18 are eligible, we prefer to restrict the ages between 5 and 10 for technical capacity issues at present.
2. The order of preference of child admission is:-

• A child who has no parents and works and lives on the streets.
• A child who has no parents and works and lives on the streets, but lives off the streets.
• A child whose father is died, mother alive, and (i) & (ii) above is applicable.
• A child whose father is dead, mother alive, but the income of mother is less than PKR 10,000/- per month.
• A child is defined in (iv) above but the father is either:
• Permanently incapacitated to work.
• Prison for life.

3. The child must be physically and mentally healthy.
4. The child should not be an addict.
5. The child should not be enrolled in any school at the time of admission.

 ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. ZamungKor Social Organizers/ Field Officers will scout areas where street children clusters exist.
2. ZamungKor Social Organizers/ Field Officers will have a preliminary talk with children and identify those that are potentially eligible for admission (Verification Form 1)
3. ZamungKor Social Organizers/ Field Officers will visit the place of residence of (ii) above, and collect details regarding their parents and financial status from the mohalla (Verification Form 2)
4. The Social Organizers/ Field Officers will provide a consolidated list of eligible children for admission, duly signed, and submit it to the Director.
5. The Director shall forward the verified children list to the Admission Committee.
6. The Admission Committee shall interview each potentially admissible child, along with the guardian and Social Organizers/ Field Officers.

• Once the Admission Committee select’s a child, the child shall be formally enrolled, with his DOB, parents death certificate (where applicable), birth certificate (where available) & entered on the Admissions Register.
• For every admitted child we need an affidavit that the guardian, or the Judge of a Child Protection Court, willingly allows ZamungKor to admit the child.

FUNCTIONS

• Policy formulation, By-Laws, Financial plans of the Child Protection Institution
• Coordination with non-governmental organizations and philanthropists
• Preparation of Annual Academic plans for children
•  Raising of funds through donations & grants for the welfare of children
