The Code of Criminal Procedure (NWFP) (Amendment) Act, 2008

ACT
further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898), for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted as follows:-
1.         Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (North-West Frontier Province) (Amendment) Act, 2008.
(2)     It shall come into force at once.
2.         Amendment of section 144 of Act V of 1898.---In the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898), in section 144,-

  1. for the words "Zila Nazim", wherever occurring, the words "District Co-ordination Officer" shall be substituted; and
  2. in sub-section (6), for the words "consecutive days and not more than seven days in a month", the word "months" shall be substituted.

3.         Repeal.-  The  Code  of Criminal  Procedure  (North-West  Frontier Province) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008 (N.-W.F.P. Ordinance No. VII of 2008) is hereby repealed.
