No. PA/NWFP/Legis:/88/3211.—The North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling (Amendment) Bill, 1988, having bean passed by the Provincial Assembly of the North-West Frontier Province on the 25th Feb­ruary, 1988, and assented to by the Governor the North-West Frontier Pro­vince on the 8th March, 1988, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Legislature of North-West Frontier Province.

AN
ACT


to amend the North- West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling Ordinance, 1978 Ord, No. V of 1978).
Preamble.---   WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling Ordinance. 1978 in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It   is hereby enacted as follows:—

  1. Short title and commencement.---    (1) This Act  may be called the North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1988.

(2) It shall come into force at once.
2.         in the North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling Ordinance 1978 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. V of 1978) the following amendment shall be made namely:—
(1)        Amendment of section 3.--- In section 3, for the words "six mouths nor then one   year" the words "one year nor more than three years'' and for the words "one thousand rupees nor more than one thousand rupees" the words "one thousand rupees nor more than ten thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
(2)        Amendment of section 4.--- In section 4, in sub-section (I), for the words "one year" the words "three years" and for the words "five thousand rupees" the words "ten thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
(3)         Amendment of section 5.---  In section 5, for the words "one year" the words "three years" shall be substituted.
(4)        Amendment of section 6.---  In section 6, for the words "two years" the words "five years" and for the words "two thousand rupees" the words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
(5)        Amendment of section 7.--- In section 7, for the words "three years" the words "seven years" and for the words "five thousand rupees" the words "ten thousand rupees"
shall be substituted.
