AN
ORDINANCE
Further to amend the West Pakistan Foodstuffs
(Control) Act,   1958.

Preamble

WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the West Pakistan Foodstuffs (Control) Act, 1958 (W.P. Act XX of 1958), in the manner here in after appearing;

AND WHEREAS the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;
NOW, THEREFORE,, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the fifth day of July, 1977, read with the Laws (Continuance in Force)Order, 1977 (C.M.L.A. Order No. l of 1977), and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:

Short title, extent and commencement.

1. (1) This Ordinance may be called the North-West Frontier Province Foodstuffs (Control) Amendment Ordinance, 1978.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Amendment of section 10 of W.P. Act XX of 1958.

2. In the West Pakistan Foodstuffs (Control)Act,1958 (W.P. Act XX of 1958), the existing section 10 shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) of that section and thereafter the following new sub-section shall be added, namely:

"(2) Government may, by notification in the official Gazette direct that all or any of the offences or class of offences under this Act, shall be tried in summary way in accordance with the procedure prescribed by Chapter XXII of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (V of 1898)".
