AN
ORDINANCE
further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979.


            WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. IV of 1979), for the purposes here in after appearing;

Preamble

AND WHEREAS the Provincial Assembly is not in session and the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 128 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:


1.         (1) This Ordinance may be called the North-West Frontier Province Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance, 1985.

Short title and commencement

(2) It shall come into force at once.


2.         In the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. IV of 1979); hereafter in referred to as the said Ordinance, in section 129, for sub-section (5) the following sub-section shall be substituted,namely:

"(5) Government may constitute a Local Councils Accounts Committee, or more such Committees at different levels, consisting of such persons as it may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint, to review audit reports made under this section and to perform such other functions as may be assisgned to it.".


3.         In the said Ordinance, in section 132, in sub-section (1), for the words "District Co-ordination Committee", the words, bracket, figures and commas "Local Councils Accounts Committee constituted under sub-section (5) of section 129, or where more than one such Committees have been constituted, by the respective Committee" shall be substituted.

4.         In the said Ordinance, in section 162, in sub-section (1)—

  1. in clause (c), the word "and" shall be added at the end;
  2. in clause (d), the semi-colon shall be replaced by a full-stop and the word "and" appearing thereafter shall be omitted; and

(c)     clause (e) shall be omitted.
