THE NORTH-WEST FRONTIER PROVINCE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987.

AN ACT
further to amend the North- West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance,1979.


WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. No. IV of 1979) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

Preamble.

It is hereby enacted as follows:—


1.         (1) This Act may be called the North-West Frontier Province Local Government (Second Amendment) Act, 1987.

Short title and commencement.

 (2) It shall come into force at once.


2.         In the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. IV of 1979), in section 175, after sub-section (3). the following new sub-section (4) shall be added, namely:—

Amendment of section 175 of N.W.F.P Ord: IV of 1979.

         "(4) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Ordinance, or any delegation made under this section, whenever the Chairman of a Local Council, for any reason, is out of station, or is on leave for a period of more than ten days, or when a vote of no confidence has been passed against a Chairman and the office of the Chairman is vacant, then the Vice-Chairman shall exercise all the executive powers and perform all the functions of the Chairman during the period of his absence, or, as the case may be, during the period till a new Chairman is elected.".
