THE NORTH-WEST FRONTIER PROVINCE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (THIRD AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 1979. N. W. F. P. ORDINANCE NO. X OF 1979. . 7th October, 1979. AN ORDINANCE. further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Local Government Ordinance, 1979.
Preamble
AND WHEREAS the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action; NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the fifth day of July, 1977, read with the Laws (Continuance in Force) Order, 1977 (C.M.L.A). Order No. I of 1977), and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance;
Short title and commencement
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Amendment of section 18 of N.W.F.P Ord: IV of 1979
"Provided that the representatives of women and minority communities shall be elected by the members of a Local Councils in the prescribed manner.".
Amendment of section 22 of N.W.F.P Ord: IV 1979.
(3) The Returning Officer shall establish in each constituency polling stations according to the final list forwarded to him by the Election Authority, specifying the electoral area the electors whereof will be entitled to vote at each polling station, and shall, at least twenty four hours before the polling day, give wide publicity, in such manner as he may deem fit, to the polling stations so established.".
4. Anything done, action taken, order made or polling stations established on or after the coming into force of the said Ordinance, in exercise of powers conferred by section 2 2 of the said Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance shall be deemed to have been validity done, taken, made or established, as if this Ordinance were in force on the day on which such thing, action or order was done, taken or made or the polling stations were established.
