AN
ACT
to amend the North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling Ordinance, 1978.


WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the North-West Frontier Province Prevention of Gambling Ordinance, 1978 (N.-W.F.P. Ord. V of 1978), in the manner hereinafter appearing;

Amendment of section 5

It is hereby enacted as follows:


1.         (1) This Act may be called the North-West Frontier Province, Prevention of Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1985.

Amendment of section 6

(2) It shall come into force at once.


2.         In the North-West Frontier Province, Prevention of Gambling Ordinance, 1978 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. V of 1978), the following amendments shall be made, namely:—

Amendment of section 7
  1. In section 3, in sub-section (1), in clause (c), for the words "one month" the words "six months" and for the words "one hundred rupees" the words "one thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
  2. In section 5, for the words "five hundred rupees" the words "two thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
  3. In section 6, for the words "one thousand rupees" the words "two thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
  4. In section 7, for the words "two thousand" the words "five thousand" shall be substituted.
  5. In section 12, after sub-section(l) the following new sub-section (2) shall be added,"namely;

         "(2) All offences under this Act shall be non-bailable.".
