The N.W.F.P Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Act, 2008

ACT
further to amend the West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960.
Preamble.—WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960 (W.P. Ord. No. XXXI of 1960), for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted as follows:-
1.         Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the North-West Frontier Province Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Act, 2008.
(2)        It shall come into forge at once and shall be deemed to have taken effect from the 11th June, 2002.
2.         Substitution of section 26 of W.P. Ord. No. XXXI of I960.- In the West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960 (W.P. Ord. No. XXXI of 1960), for section 26, the following shall be substituted, namely:
"26. Delegation of power to servant of Government.— Government may, by order in writing, direct that the power under sub-section (1) of section 3 shall, subject to such restrictions, as may be specified, be exercisable by any servant of Government, authorized in this behalf by a general or special order of Government within his jurisdiction.".
3.         Repeal.-    The North-West Frontier Province Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008 (N.-W.F.P. Ordinance No. VI of 2008) is hereby repealed.
