Act
further to amend the Stamp Act, 1899.


            WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Stamp Act, 1899 (Act No. II of 1899), in the manner hereinafter appearing;

Preamble

It is hereby enacted as follows: —


1.         (1) This Act maybe called the Stamp Act (North-West Frontier Short title Province Amendment) Act, 1977.

Short title and commencement.

(2) It shall come into force at once.


2.         In the Stamp Act, 1899, in its application to the North- West Frontier Province, in section 2, after clause (22), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:—

Amendment of section 2 of Act II of 1899

                     “(22-a) 'public officer includes the Officer-in-Charge of a Government Off ice, or any office of a Local Council, a Local Authority, a Statutory Corporation or a similar body set up by the Federal or Provincial Government, a Commercial or Industrial concern, whether singly owned or run through partnership having more that twenty employees, a body registered under the Companies Act, 1913 (Act VII of 1 913),


3.         The Stamp Act (North-West Frontier Province Amendment) (Second) Ordinance, 1977 (N. W. F. P. Ordinance N°- XII pf 1977), is herby repealed.
