THE WEST PAKISTAN LAND REVENUE (NORTH-WEST FRONTIER PROVINCE SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1976.

ACT
further to amend the West Pakistan Land Revenue Act, 1967.


            WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the West Pakistan Land Revenue Act, 1967 (W.P. Act, XVII of!976), in the manner hereinafter appearing;

Preamble

It is hereby anacted as followes: —


1.         (1) This Act may be called the West Pakistan Land Revenue (North West Frontier Province Second Amendment) Act, 1976.

Short title, extent and commencement.

(2) It shall come into force at once.


2.         In the West Pakistan Land Revenue Act, 1967 (W.P. Act, XVII of 1067), hereinafter referred to as the said Act, in section 37, in sub-section (1), for the word "five", the word "ten" shall be substituted.

3.         In the said Act, section 81 shall be re-numbered as sub-section (1) of that section and thereafter the following new sub-section shall be added, namely:—

                     "(2) The notice referred to in sub-section (1) shall be served in the manner provided in sub-sections (1), C2) and (3) of section 24, and a. copy thereof shall, wherever practicable, be also forwarded by registered post to the defaulter".


4.         In the said Act, in section 82 :-
            (a)     for sub-section (I), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely;—

                     (1) If after lapse of fifteen days of the service of notice of demand under section 81 on a defaulter, the arrears of land-revenue due from him, or any part thereof, remain unpaid, the Revenue Officer may issue a warrant directing an officer named therein to arrest the defaulter and bring him before the Revenue Officer."., and
            (b)    sub-section (2) shall be deleted.


5.         The West Pakistan Land Revenue (North-West Frontier Province Second Amendment) Ordinance, 1976 (N.-W.F.P. Ordinance No. X of 1976), is hereby repealed.
